      “Internet” Recharter Instructions

 

Things to know before you start:

·         To use the Internet Recharter program you must have Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.

·         This is not a totally paperless process.  There are still forms that require signatures that will have to be printed out & turned in along with payment.

·         The advancement and training records are a separate process from rechartering.  You will not be able to update these records using Internet rechartering.

·         Tiger Parents must submit an application, if they are to fill another position. (i.e. Tiger Leader, Den Leader, Member of the Committee)

·         Your current charter expires on January 1st.  For this reason, we will not be able to print new membership cards until after the close of business for 2007.  Please allow until the end of January before calling to check on your cards.

·         Do not pay the amount due calculated by the Internet process.  New members who joined this fall at school nights have already paid for 2007.  Use the Amount Due Calculation Sheet included in this packet to calculate the amount due.

·         Members who have already paid for 2007 have either R7, RB7 or B7 in the suffix field of the name on the enclosed roster. Do not remove or change these codes.  See the Amount Due Calculation Sheet for explanation.

 

 

Getting started

1.      Log onto the Central Florida Council website at: www.cfcbsa.org.  Click on the Internet Rechartering link.

2.      Click on:

            a.         First Time User (beginning recharter process for first time)

            b.         Returning User (making changes before submitting to Council)

3.      Log In

            a.         Access Code – (The access code is located on the label on the front of the recharter packet envelope.)

            b.         Unit Type – (use the drop down arrow to select pack, troop, crew, post, ship)

            c.         Unit # - (Enter your unit’s National {4 digit} unit number – see label on the front of the recharter packet envelope for the National number)

            d.         Click on “continue”

4.      Confidentiality Statement

            a.         Please review and click on “I agree”. 

5.      Enter Contact information as asked for.  Once completed click on “Register”.

6.      Review the 5 Stage Process – click begin

7.      YOU MUST SELECT “LOAD COUNCIL INFORMATION”.  Do not use the “Upload UMS File”.  (By using the Upload UMS File, you will remove the suffix codes causing you to pay for members who have already paid the 2007 registration and Boys’ Life fees.)

8.      From the point of “Update Roster” please follow the instructions given by the Internet Rechartering system.  It will direct you through:

            a.         Update Roster

            b.         Check Roster

            c.         Update Fees

            d.         Submit Roster

 

Use the Amount Due Calculations sheet attached to the packet labeled “Return this Packet”.
